For efficient production planning and execution, it’s critical that work orders have the required materials available for completion on release.
Until now, production planners have had to manually open work orders or write custom applications to identify material shortages before sending them to the factory.
The good news is that this new release means that when attaching production work order parts lists, Work Order Processing now includes the option to default to a specified status code when one or more parts list shortages exist.
Don’t start what you can’t finish!
The new enhancement improves your production planning by providing immediate visibility of material shortage conditions. This automatically stops your work orders from being released until all necessary parts or materials are in stock.
- Identify material shortages at a glance
Work Order Processing (R31410) now includes the option to default to a specified status code (00/SS) to identify shortages of one or more parts on your materials list. Example: Status 23 is shown below

- Don’t release incomplete work orders
Combine the status code revision with E1 Page, Watchlist or Notification functionality to make material shortage conditions immediately visible and prevent the release of Work Orders to production until all the required material is available.
