We’ve been a member of the Microsoft Inner Circle since 2017 and a Cloud Solutions Partner. As part of the Inner Circle, we’re called upon to contribute to Microsoft’s own business applications strategy and the aspects that impact partners like us.     
 
We are looking for Senior Data Engineer’s who have extensive experience in technical delivery (especially across the Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric Tech stacks) and strong overall business acumen. Key focus for this role will be to define and design data landscapes, deliver end-to-end data platforms using the Azure and Fabric stacks, and deliver centralised data models into client’s environments.      
 
The successful candidate will have the following technical capabilities:

  • 4+ years’ experience as a data consultant/engineer/specialist
  • Professional experience in the consulting practice is preferred
  • In-depth hands on-work experience with large-scale implementations of Analytics Cloud solutions
  • In-depth knowledge of Fabric and Azure technology stacks including; IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Data Lake, Cosmos, Insights, Azure Data Bricks, Azure SQL DQ, Azure Synapse Analytics, PowerApps, LogicApps, Azure Data Factory
  • In-depth hands-on work experience with implementations of Microsoft Analytics solutions, using Microsoft Fabric
  • Strong understanding of complex data analysis using various data analytics tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, R, BA, PySpark)
  • Design and implementation of end-to-end data pipelines
  • Strong data quality management experience, including master data and reference data management
  • Practical understanding of various ingestion options for on-premise or external data sources
  • Strong background and experience in all aspects of dataLake, data warehouse and Business Intelligence implementations
  • Strong data modelling skills (incl. understating of star and snowflake schemas)
  • A track record of driving change and delivery in a technology environment
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and processes (including control and risk management).

The successful candidate will have the following consulting capabilities:

  • Effectively gather requirements from clients through workshops, and user stories, ensuring a clear understanding of their needs and goals.
  • Excellent documentation skills including developing functional and technical specifications, as well as assisting with the creation of Statements of Work and providing accurate estimates
  • Knowledge and experience in end-to-end project delivery, either traditional SDLC or agile delivery methodologies (or hybrid approaches)
  • Clear written and verbal communications; able to communicate with a wide range of people and to gather requirements and produce written designs and architecture documents
  • Experience in designing and delivering data strategies at an enterprise-wide level (and supporting roadmaps, initiatives and programs)
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and relationship management abilities
  • Strong time management and co-ordination skills
  • Extensive consulting experience and a high level of commercial awareness
  • Good problem solving and relationship management skills.

It is advantageous to have the following skills

  • Microsoft certifications such as DP-600, DP700
  • Experience with other cloud platforms; AWS, Snowflake, Informatica
  • Experience with reporting/visualisation tools including Cognos, Tableau, Qlik, Power BI.
